History
Solidarity and Unity Spanning Over Five Decades
Since our inception in 1971, USW Local 7884 has stood as a symbol or tenacity, perseverance, and comraderie. For over half a century, generations of miners have toiled in the heart of these rugged landscapes, forging an indomitable bond that transcends the confines of a mere workplace. We have weathered the storms of change, navigated the ebb and flow of an industry that has been the lifeblood of our town and its people.
Our history is not just shaped by triumphs and tragedies but also by the collective strength displayed during out labour strikes and countless wobbles. Over the years, our union has united to demand fair wages, safer working conditions, and respect for the rights of our members, highlighting the power of solidarity and the value of a united voice.
